I agree with Ted somewhat when he comments on the deteriorating quality of the blog. Hence, I hit on an idea, because I am quite bored and would enjoy writing in this style.
Why don't we write about news in each of our countries and post it, every once in a while. That way, we could stop remarking on our miserable lives and instead write something productive. I am personally interested in (most) of your country's news, especially Israel, Pakistan, UK (not Wales), and perhaps Portugal.
Probably no one will actually like this idea or be bothered to do it, but I will start anyways.
In HK yesterday, the stock market broke records of records. Like, financilious records; highest volume of trades and highest absolute value of money traded. And for Hong Kong, with its voluminous and stock exchange, that is in itself quite interesting. (My mother wants me to begin speculating with her capital, which is why I know this. Any recommendations from anyone who is knowledgable?)
Otherwise, July 1st marks the date of the 10th anniversary of the handover from the previous masters (HMG) to the new masters (PRC). So the city is gearing up for celebration, journalists are reviewing the past 10 years, etc. Quite excellently, British politicians and representatives have been snubbed and not invited to celebrations, whatnot.
Upon review, actually, this idea was quite sterile and unnecessary.

Nice idea, but I still think people should also write about their lives, as this is the point of this blog.
Last week the Chinese president visited the Swedish PM. Nothing happened.
The idea is not too bad, and the news you included in your post were interesting. Hong Kong is, however, probably the only of the countries listed that I personally would have interest of reading about, at this blog; Norway is Sweden, Pakistan features on somewhat every second page in every edition of the Economist, as does the UK; the last time anything interesting came out of portugal was - oh, no, that was Spain - sorry; Israel is all in our fucking faces all the time and has been since we were born; Hong Kong, on the contrary, seldom gives away a lot of noise, so you go ahead, Nat.
